HC Deb 04 March 1872 vol 209 c1325
MR. M. GUEST

asked, Whether it is the intention of the Government to bring in a Bill this year to remit the existing debt due to the Exchequer upon the security of the Blackwater Bridge; and, whether they can name a day to bring in the same?

MR. BAXTER

There is, Sir, no present intention on the part of the Government to bring in a Bill to remit the existing debt duo to the Exchequer on the security of the Blackwater Bridge; but the Treasury is willing to entertain any further proposals on the part of the counties interested for the settlement of the question.
