asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether Adjutants of the Reserve Forces and Volunteers are permitted to exchange from one station to another; and, if so, upon what conditions?

MR. CARDWELL

replied, that under the proposed regulations adjutants of Militia regiments were intended to be supernumerary officers, the present adjutants being allowed to exchange when recommended by the commanding officers of the battalions and the Lords Lieutenant of counties.
