asked the Secretary to the Treasury, Whether the Postmaster General has forwarded to the Treasury a recommendation to commute the pensions of the servants and clerks of the late Telegraph Companies; and whether the Treasury proposes to act upon such recommendation?

MR. BAXTER

said, a recommendation to the effect mentioned had been received from the Postmaster General, and the Treasury intended to act on that recommendation at once.
