§ ADMIRAL ERSKINEasked the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, Whether, considering that the Bill for the Prevention and Punishment of Criminal Outrages upon Natives of the Islands in the Pacific Ocean has been in 1155 the hands of Members only since Monday, he intends to proceed with the Second Reading upon Thursday?
§ MR. KNATCHBULL-HUGESSEN, in reply, said, he gathered that it would he convenient to postpone the Bill for the present. He would put it down in the Orders for Monday, on the understanding that it would not be taken then, and that he would meanwhile consider to what day he should postpone it.
