§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERsaid, he would, in deference to the wishes of several hon. Members, postpone his Motion on the Business of the House until the following day; but he would appeal to the hon. Member for North Warwickshire (Mr. Newdegate) and to the hon. Member for Gloucester (Mr. Monk) to allow him to proceed with his Motion before they brought on the Motions of which they had given Notice, as that course would be most convenient.
§ MR. MONKsaid, his Motion would occupy only a short time, but he would give way to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
