Order read, for resuming Adjourned Debate on Amendment proposed to Question [12th May], "That Mr. Speaker do now leave the Chair;" and which Amendment was,
To leave out from the word "That" to the end of the Question, in order to add the words "a Select Committee be appointed to inquire whether the procedure adopted in the case of the Nawab of Tonk was conformable to recognized

principles of justice, and calculated to ensure a right decision being arrived at,"—(Mr. Robert Fowler,)
—instead thereof.
§ Question again proposed, "That the words proposed to be left out stand part of the Question."
§ MR. R. N. FOWLERintimated that, in the absence of the right hon. Baronet the Member for North Devon (Sir Stafford Northcote), and as the hon. Member for Gravesend (Sir Charles Wingfield) had given notice of a Motion that an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty praying that the case of the ex-Nawab of Tonk be referred to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, he would withdraw for the present his Motion that a Select Committee be appointed to inquire, whether the procedure adopted in the case of the ex-Nawab of Tonk was conformable to recognized principles of justice.
