§ MR. M'CARTHY DOWNINGasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland, When he expects to be able to lay upon the Table the Bill for improvements of the condition of labourers in Ireland and their habitations?
THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTONsaid, in reply, that he had been in communication with the Board of Works in Ireland, and with gentlemen interested in the subject, and would, as soon as possible, lay on the Table a Bill for the improvement of the condition of labourers and their habitations in Ireland. He could not, however, promise that this would be done before Whitsuntide.
