asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether Small-pox is raging in certain districts of London from which certain Regiments of Militia are annually recruited; and, whether the right hon. Gentleman will delay the calling out of these Regiments till the Small-pox subsides?

MR. CARDWELL

Sir, the only metropolitan regiment coming out within the next month is that from Hounslow. It is intended to call out the remainder later in the year. It is the practice to take the precautions which may seem to be necessary under the circumstances, whenever there is an alarm of infectious disease.
