HC Deb 23 March 1871 vol 205 c461
MAJOR ALLEN

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether, in the new regulations for Sandhurst, the provision for the Queen's and East India Cadets will be made as heretofore?

MR. CARDWELL

Sir, Sandhurst is at present occupied by gentlemen who have already passed their examination, and I have great reason to be satisfied with what I hear of their conduct and progress. The question of cadets generally is under consideration, and I am not prepared to state as yet what arrangements will ultimately be adopted.
