HC Deb 16 March 1871 vol 205 c49
MR. MUNTZ

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether the Henry-Martini Rifle now adopted is the same as those which were manufactured at Enfield in 1869; and, if any alteration has been made, whether Members of this House would be allowed to inspect the sealed pattern?

SIR HENRY STORKS

replied that the Henry-Martini rifle now recommended for adoption was the same in general principle as that manufactured at Enfield in 1869, but various modifications had been introduced. No pattern was yet sealed, but as soon as the pattern was sealed there would be no objection to its inspection by Members of the House.
