THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTONreplied that up to the end of last year £18,000 was advanced from the Exchequer to Irish tenants to enable them to purchase farms under the Land Improvement Act of last Session. This year over £6,000 had been advanced for the same purpose, making a total of about £25,000.
