presented a Message from the Crown.

MR. SPEAKER

read the Message, which ran as follows:— Her Majesty being desirous of making competent provision for the honourable support and maintenance of Her Majesty's third son, Prince Arthur William Patrick Albert, on his coming of age, relies on the attachment of the House of Lords to confer on the adoption of such measures as may be suitable for the purpose.

MR. GLADSTONE

This is a mistake. I am not aware whether that vitiates the proceeding in any way. I move that the Message be taken into consideration on Monday next.

MR. RUSSELL GURNEY

This is no Message at all.

An Hon. MEMBER: What Message?

MR. GLADSTONE

The Message of Her Majesty. I refer to the Chair on the subject. If the Order is made as to proceeding with the Message, I will take care that it is corrected.
