HC Deb 21 July 1871 vol 208 c88
MR. CAVENDISH BENTINCK

asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether he has approved of the architectural designs for the New Courts of Justice now exhibited in the Library of this House?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

replied that he could only give the hon. Gentleman the same answer that he gave him the day before — namely, that these plans had not yet been approved of, and they were placed in the Library in order to invite the opinions of Members of the House of Commons?

MR. CAVENDISH BENTINCK

Am I to understand that they have not been approved of?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

For the third time I say they are not approved of.
