HC Deb 17 August 1871 vol 208 c1764
MR. STAPLETON (for Mr. DICKINSON)

asked the Postmaster General, Whether there is any, and, if any, what objection to allow ordinary Cards of proper dimensions and weight to be fixed by Regulation, with an adhesive one-halfpenny stamp; and, whether he will alter the existing Regulations accordingly?

MR. MONSELL

replied, that after consultation with the Inland Revenue he found it would be impossible to carry out the suggestion embodied in the Question. He admitted, however, that he sympathized with the object which the hon. Gentleman had in view, and should be glad if some scheme could be devised for carrying it into effect.
