HC Deb 08 August 1871 vol 208 cc1095-6
MR. COLLINS

begged to ask the senior Member for Chelsea, Whether, looking to the period of the Session, it would not be advisable to withdraw the Registration of Voters Bill, with a view to introducing it early next Session?

SIR CHARLES W. DILKE

said, in reply, that when a few days back a similar Question was put to him, he had answered that the opposition to the Bill now being confined to points of detail, and the Bill already having passed through Committee, he hoped to be able to go on with it; but, inasmuch as since that time he had not been able to find a day upon which to proceed with the Bill, he was compelled to withdraw it with a view to introducing it early next Session.
