asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether, in accordance with the Recommendation of the Select Committee on the Diplomatic Service, it is intended to transfer the superintendence of our relations with Persia to the India Office, or if not, to reduce the amount paid by India towards the expenses of the Mission at Teheran?

No decision, Sir, has as yet been arrived at with respect to the important subject mentioned by the hon. Member; but I can repeat the assurance I gave a few weeks ago, that the various recommendations made by the Select Committee on the Diplomatic Service will receive during the Recess the careful consideration of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
