§ SIR JOHN PAKINGTONasked the Secretary of State for War, Whether he has taken the opinion of the Law Officers of the Crown on the question whether Colonel Edgcumbe is not the duly appointed Commanding Officer of the Royal Cornwall Rangers Militia; and, whether it is his intention to take any further steps with respect to that command?
§ MR. CARDWELLsaid, in reply, that he had not thought it necessary to take the opinion of the Law Officers of the Crown on the subject referred to; and with regard to taking any further steps with respect to the command of the Royal Cornwall Rangers Militia, he awaited the recommendation from the Lord Lieutenant before doing so.
