HC Deb 20 April 1871 vol 205 c1383
MR. LOPES

asked Mr. Attorney General, When he proposes to bring in a Bill to amend the Jury System?

THE SOLICITOR GENERAL

said, in reply, that he was not prepared to answer the Question.

Afterwards—

In reply to Mr. LOPES,

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

said, the Juries Bill had passed in accordance with the recommendations of a Select Committee. A Bill had subsequently been passed to repeal a single clause, and he thought it would be well to have at least one year's experience of it to see how it worked. It was not his intention to introduce a second Bill.
