§ MR. M'CARTHY DOWNINGasked the President of the Poor Law Board, Whether any steps have been taken or 1147 advised to guard against the removal of the destitute from Unions in England and Scotland, where the small-pox has prevailed, to Ireland; and, if so, the nature thereof?
§ MR. STANSFELD, in reply, said, the Poor Law Board had no power to suspend any removals; but he had addressed a Circular Letter to those Unions from which removals to Ireland most frequently occurred, advising the suspension of such removals while the epidemic prevailed.
