HC Deb 28 March 1870 vol 200 c718
MAJOR ALLEN

said, he wished to ask the Under Secretary to the Board of Trade, Why the Return moved for on the 26th of July last, in reference to Collisions on Railways, where the Block System is and is not in operation, and which was promised to be furnished by the President of the Board of Trade, has not been laid upon the Table of the House?

MR. SHAW-LEFEVRE

Sir, the delay in furnishing the Return is due to the fact that about half the railway companies have neglected to supply the necessary information in reply to a circular directed to them by the Board of Trade. Their attention has recently been again called to the subject; and I hope, therefore, we may be shortly in a position to lay the Return upon the Table of the House.
