HC Deb 07 March 1870 vol 199 c1369
MR. EYKYN

said, he wished to ask Mr. Attorney General, Whether Her Majesty's Government are prepared to interfere, by legal measures or otherwise, in order to secure more rapid and economical proceedings by liquidators in reference to the Limited Liability Companies now in course of being wound up, with the view of relieving a large number of persons from the results arising from the protracted proceedings of the liquidators?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

In reply, Sir, to the Question of the hon. Member, I have to state that Her Majesty's Government are not prepared at present to introduce any measure upon this subject, and I need scarcely remind the hon. Member that interference in any other manner would be entirely out of the question.
