HC Deb 01 March 1870 vol 199 c1000
SIR CHARLES WINGFIELD

said, he wished to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether the question of restoring to the India Office the control of Her Majesty's Legation in Persia will be taken into consideration by the Select Committee on the constitution of Diplomatic and Consular Services?

MR. OTWAY

said, in reply, that there was no reason why the question should not be considered by the Committee on the Diplomatic and Consular Services. The point was one of great importance, and as a Member of the Committee, he should like to have the opinion of a Gentleman so well qualified to give one as the hon. Member himself.
