HC Deb 20 June 1870 vol 202 c491
SIR CHARLES W. DILKE

said, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, Whether it is true that it is in contemplation to purchase land from Earl Cadogan for the purpose of erecting Cavalry Barracks in the heart of Chelsea parish?

MR. CARDWELL

Sir, I have had some reason to suppose that such a plan would be brought under my consideration; but I do not understand that Lord Cadogan's consent has been obtained, and, under these circumstances, I do not regard the proposal as practically before me.
