CARDWELLSir, I have heard that the general officer commanding at Aldershot instituted a comparative trial between the Henry-Martini rifle and the rifle of a particular inventor, and reported upon it to the Horse Guards; but the trial was not authorized by his Royal Highness, and the Report has not been forwarded to me.
