§ THE LORD ADVOCATESir, my attention has been called to the practice to which the Question of the hon. and learned Member refers, and I have no hesitation in saying that I concur in what I believe to be his opinion, as the Question implies. At the same time the only answer which I can give is that the state of the law, under which the judgments of the Registration Courts are given, that this practice is permissible, and the possibility of altering that law in such a manner as to put an end to the abuse, without at the same time unduly interfering with other electoral qualifications, are matters which merit and will receive the attention of Her Majesty's Government.
