HC Deb 24 February 1870 vol 199 c768
MR. GATHORNE HARDY

said, he would beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether he will introduce the measure relating to the land of the United Kingdom, to which he referred in his speech on the Irish Land Bill, before the Second Reading of that measure?

MR. GLADSTONE

, in reply, said, that he had referred to the Bill as one that would embrace the three Kingdoms, and it would be desirable if he could that he should produce the Bill before the Second Reading of the Irish Land Bill. Should it, however, not be possible to produce it before the Second Reading, he would before going into Committee on the Irish Bill bring it forward. At least he was very anxious to do so, but there was a good deal of difficulty in drawing tip Bills of this complicated nature, and he hoped therefore that the House would show the Government some indulgence.
