said, he wished to ask the Under Secretary of State for India, Whether any final decision has been arrived at with reference to the number of appointments in the Indian Civil Service, which are to be competed for at the approaching examination?

MR. GRANT DUFF

said, in reply, that it had been decided that day that the number of appointments in the Indian Civil Service to be competed for at the approaching examination should be forty.
