§ MR. KNATCHBULL - HUGESSENsaid, in reply, that, having regard to the very extensive programme of performances already issued by the Government, he was afraid that he should scarcely have an opportunity of passing such a measure during the present Session. He entirely agreed with his hon. Friend as to the importance of the subject, and for that reason thought that it would be undesirable to introduce a measure relating to it, excepting at a time and in a manner which would secure for it such full consideration as might result in some settlement which could be accepted as satisfactory.
