MR. NEVILLE-GRENVILLEsaid, he wished to ask the Secretary of State for War, Whether any change is contemplated with respect to admission of Cadets to Woolwich; if so, whether the new rules will affect detrimentally young men preparing for their examinations on the faith of existing regulations?
§ MR. CARDWELLYes, Sir, some changes are in contemplation in the rules for the admission of cadets at Woolwich, in accordance with the recommendations of the Commission on Military Education. They will not, however, affect candidates for the examination at Midsummer. The only change which will be made at Midsummer will be that the examination will be conducted by the Civil Service Examiners, instead of those who used formerly to examine.
