HC Deb 05 August 1870 vol 203 c1580
MR. EYKYN

said, he would beg to ask the First Lord of the Admiralty, If the present state of the Navy is sufficiently satisfactory to warrant his allowing the Session to close before asking for a Vote of Credit and additional Men for the use of Her Majesty's Navy?

MR. CHILDERS

said, he thought his hon. Friend must have asked the Question under some misapprehension. The £2,000,000 were voted both for naval and military purposes.
