said, he wished to ask the Chief Secretary for Ireland, Whether he will object to lay upon the Table of the House Copies of the Documents or Statements which induced the Government to proclaim the City of Derry?

MR. CHICHESTER FORTESOUE

said, in reply to the Question of the hon. Baronet, he had to state that no document of such a nature as it was usual to lay before that House existed with regard to this subject. The Lord Lieutenant in proclaiming Derry had acted upon sufficient information furnished to him by the local authorities.
