§ MR. WELLSsaid, he wished to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, When the Savings Banks Returns, moved for on the 1st March, will be laid upon the Table?
§ MR. AYRTONsaid, in reply, that the Returns in question were not furnished by the Government, but by the savings banks themselves; and as there were 511 savings banks the hon. Member would see that it it took a considerable time to collect them. The Government had received Returns from about 400 banks.
