§ MR. VANCESir, I wish to ask the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether there is any truth in a rumour which I have seen with much regret—namely, that Lord Spencer has tendered his resignation as Lord Lieutenant of Ireland?
MR. GLADSTONEI have no communication whatever to make to the hon. Gentleman and to the House on the subject. I have no reason to suppose that there is any truth in the rumour.
