HC Deb 23 March 1869 vol 194 c2000
MR. LANGTON

said, he wished to ask Mr. Attorney General, Whether he intends to recommend that a Commission should be sent to Bridgwater to inquire into the corrupt practices which the Judge reported to have extensively prevailed at the last Election; and, whether he intends to prosecute those whose names were mentioned in the Judge's Report?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

said, in reply, that he intended to move an Address to the Queen for a Commission to inquire into the alleged corrupt practices at Bridgwater. In regard to the prosecution of those persons whose names were mentioned in the Judge's Report, that point was now under consideration.
