CRAUFURDsaid, he wished to ask the Lord Advocate, Whether it be his intention to bring in any measure during the present Session to repeal the 37th section of the Scotch Poor Law Act, 8 & 9 Vic. c. 83, and to provide that all assessments in Scotland shall be made on the gross rental; and, if so, how soon he will introduce the Bill?
THE LORD ADVOCATEsaid, in reply, that it was his intention to propose a measure of the description alluded to by his hon. and learned Friend, and he would probably be ready to introduce it shortly after the Easter Recess.
