M'CLUREsaid, he wished to ask the Chief Secretary for Ireland, Whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce a measure to extend the Municipal Franchise in cities and towns in Ireland to the same classes who by the Act of last year are entitled to claim the Parliamentary Franchise?
§ MR. CHICHESTER FORTESCUEsaid, that he agreed with the hon. Gentleman that the municipal franchise in Ireland was in an unsatisfactory condition and required consideration, which it would receive at the hands of the Government. He was not able however to undertake to legislate on the subject at present.
