said, he would beg-to ask the Secretary of State for War, Whether he is aware that Quartermasters of Militia regiments are entitled to no retiring allowance or pension after long service, except such as they may have been entitled, to from service as noncommissioned officers or privates in the regular Army; and, whether he contemplates making any provision for the retirement of Quartermasters of the Militia of the United Kingdom, after certain length of service.

MR. CARDWELL

said, in reply, that he was aware of their position, and the subject was at present under consideration, with a view to the point to which the hon. Gentleman had referred.
