CHICHESTER FORTESCUEsaid, in reply, that the recent collision between the people and the police at Ballyheigue had been brought under the attention of the Government by the Lord Lieutenant of the county. A magisterial inquiry was proceeding, and until that was completed it would be premature to say whether the Government proposed to issue a Commission of Inquiry.
