HC Deb 19 July 1869 vol 198 c154
MR. STACPOOLE

said, he wished to ask the Postmaster General, Whether any Contract or Agreement has been entered into with any Manufacturing Company or Private Establishments by which it is provided that such Company or Establishment should be exclusively employed when it became necessary to repair or to relay the Submarine Telegraph Cables about to be purchased by the Government; and, if any such Contract or Agreement has been made, whether he will place a Copy of it upon the Table of the House?

THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTON

said, in reply, that no such contract or agreement had been entered into by the Post Office, and none such would be entered into by that Department without full notice to all parties who might be disposed to tender.
