AKROYDsaid, he wished to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, If any further communications have been re- 1271 ceived by the Treasury on the subject of proposals for a reduction of the Wine Duties, in connection with negotiations for Treaties of Commerce with Spain and Portugal; and, if so, if he will object to lay such Supplementary Correspondence upon the Table of the House?
§ MR. AYRTONsaid, in reply, that since the last Papers were laid on the table the subject had continued to engage the attention of the Government. The Correspondence was still going on, and as soon as he could lay the further Papers on the table he should be happy to do so.
