HC Deb 25 February 1869 vol 194 cc331-2
MR. THOMAS CHAMBERS

, in moving for leave to bring in a Bill to legalize Marriage with a Deceased Wife's Sister, expressed his belief that the opening of a new Parliament was the right time for the introduction of a measure which had been frequently discussed in Parliament during the last twenty years, and which, on several occasions, had been adopted by that assembly by large majorities.

Mr. CROSS

said, he wished to give the hon. and learned Member for Marylebone Notice that he should feel it to be his duty to oppose the second reading of the Bill.

Motion agreed to.

Bill to legalise Marriage with a Deceased Wife's Sister, ordered to be brought in by Mr. THOMAS CHAMBERS and Mr. MORLEY.

House adjourned at a quarter after Six o'clock.
