DENISONsaid, he wished to ask the Under Secretary of State for India, If he will lay upon the Table the Petition of the Landed Proprietors of the Punjaub against the enforcement of the Punjaub Tenancy Act, together with the Minute of the Lieutenant Governor, Sir D. MacLeod, transmitting the said Petition to the Supreme Government; and, whether he will state the substance of any Resolution thereupon which may have been adopted by the Secretary of State?
MR. GRANT DUFFSir, these Papers cannot be laid at present on the 1146 Table, as no resolution has yet been taken about them. The whole question is engaging the attention of the Secretary of State.
