§ MR. NEWDEGATEsaid, he would beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether the Government will lay upon the Table of the House the Report of, and the Evidence taken before, the Committee appointed by the Legislative Assembly of Australia, to consider the Papers with respect to O'Farrell, produced on the Motion of Mr. Parkes?
MR. GLADSTONEsaid, in reply, that he had learned from inquiry that the Report of the Committee appointed by the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales to consider the Papers with respect to O'Farrell occupied 150 closely-printed pages, and the Government were of opinion that there was not sufficient reason to justify them in putting the country to the expense of re-printing it. But, a copy of the Report would be placed in the library, where the hon. Member might consult it.
