said, he wished to ask the Chief Secretary for Ireland, If it is the intention of Government to introduce a Prisons Bill for Ireland; and if they have it in contemplation to place the County and Convict Prisons under the same superintendence?

MR. CHICHESTER FORTESCUE

, in reply, said, he hoped a Bill relating to prisons in Ireland would be introduced this Session, either in this or the other House. The important subject of the latter part of the hon. Member's Question was under consideration, but the Government had not yet decided upon it.
