HC Deb 26 April 1869 vol 195 c1583
MAJOR DICKSON

said, he would beg to ask the First Lord of the Admiralty, If instructions have been given by the Admiralty for the Government moorings in Dover Bay to be examined; and, if so, by whom the duty will be performed?

MR. CHILDERS

said, in reply, that there were two moorings in Dover Bay. As the House was aware, on Easter Monday, an accident happened to one of them, which ended in the loss of a brig, the tender to a training ship. An officer connected with one of the dockyards had been sent down to repair the broken mooring, and the other would be examined at the same time.
