§ MR. PIMsaid, he would beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whe- 585 ther the Government will allow a drawback of the Duty on Corn which may have been paid after the announcement of the abolition of the Duty and the passing of the Resolution?
§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERsaid, it was not the intention of the Government to allow a drawback on corn now in the hands of importers. Corn arriving in our ports that day would be, so far as he knew, subject to the duty, and he presumed that, according to the usual practice, it would be subject to the duty until the Resolution was affirmed.
