§ SIR COLMAN O'LOGHLENsaid, he wished to ask the Chief Secretary for Ireland, If it be the intention of Her Majesty's Government to issue a Royal Commission to inquire into the Tenure and Occupation of Land in Ireland; and, if so, when will the Commission be issued?
THE EARL OF MAYOIt is the intention, Sir, of the Government to issue the Commission to which the hon. Gentleman refers. It is our earnest wish to endeavour to induce some Members of both Houses of Parliament to serve on the Commission; but, having regard to the Business of both Houses and the convenience of Members, it will be impossible to appoint the Commission until the termination of the Session.
