HC Deb 18 June 1868 vol 192 c1752
MR. MONK

said, he would beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether the Plans for the proposed New Embassy House at Therapia, which were sent home by Colonel Gordon, and for which a recent Vote was taken, have been set aside; and, if so, whether it is the intention of the Government to have new plans prepared upon the basis of the Estimate already submitted to Parliament?

MR. SCLATER-BOOTH

said, in reply, that as the matter referred to by the hon. Member was settled at the Treasury, he would answer the Question. The plans had not been set set aside, but the cheaper of those sent home had been selected. From unavoidable circumstauces some little delay had occured in the carrying out of the work.
