HC Deb 18 June 1868 vol 192 c1758

In answer to Mr. PIM,

THE EARL OF MAYO

said, that the question of the law of pawnbroking in Ireland was one of considerable difficulty and intricacy, and he could not promise any legislation on the subject in the present Session, If any vacancy occurred in the offices of pawnbrokers' auctioneers care would be taken that the appointment was made subject to such conditions as Parliament might impose in any legislation on the subject.
