said, he wished to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, Whether the Post Office Department contemplates the renewal of the direct Postal Communication by Steam Packets with Penang, which that Settlement has enjoyed for the last twenty-two years; and, if so, what are the measures to be adopted?

MR. SCLATER-BOOTH

, in reply, said, this subject had been for some time under the consideration of the Post Office authorities; but he was unable to state that they had arrived at any decision on the subject. The matter was still under their consideration, and perhaps his hon. Friend would repeat his Question on a future day.
